Greener Homes Grant
The Government of Canada has committed to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Our sister companies VerdaTech Energy Management & Consulting and Acacia Engineering Ltd. are licensed service organization providing the home energy evaluations required to qualify for the grants. About Us
As Building Consultants, our focus is on wood frame construction in Single and Multi-family buildings. We work with warranty providers, home builders, condo associations, insurance companies and private owners.
We don’t do the actual remediation work; however, we are available to supervise and provide quality assurance reviews.
Building Reviews
Our building review services are focused on construction defects and diagnostics, as well as pre-drywall and building envelope site reviews of new buildings. We call this Predictive Performance Evaluations.
Experience
Our team of building envelope specialists has over 100 years of combined hands-on experience with new and renovation building projects.
We are certified in infrared thermography, building science, HVAC design, Master Homebuilder and Renovator, Professional Site Manager, and Moisture Control Technician, Passive house, EnerGuide, LEED, Net Zero, 9.36 energy compliance, NECB, and more.
We have performed thousands of diagnostic assessments and forensic audits for litigation and are qualified, expert witnesses.
NDT Diagnostic Testing
Non-destructive Diagnostic Testing for moisture issues, like water ingress, stucco and window leaks, excessive frost and condensation, air leakage, and energy efficiency.
Based on thousands of tests such as ASTM and proprietary methods, we include methods like infrared thermography, pressure differentials, blower door airtightness, HVAC static, and mechanical balancing, measurements for humidity, and temperature and data logging.
Training & Seminars
We offer customized training solutions for building performance,
building science, energy efficiency, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and energy modeling.
We offer training using mockups and hands-on displays in our training center or live video presentations.
Our sister company VerdaTech Energy Management is working with CIET we provide energy adviser training across Canada. This positions students to challenge the required NRCan exams. We provide a very affordable and creative path to completing the required probationary files and achieving the full NRCan EA certification. Our virtual probationary file program allows you to work from the comfort of your home to complete this final step in becoming an Energy Advisor.
